  • Mountain passes (Rogers Pass, Coquihalla, Fraser Canyon) can have winter conditions from October to April.

Good to know

  • US border crossing: please bring a valid passport and any required US entry documents.
  • Waterton Lakes: the Chief Mountain border crossing is seasonal (about mid-May to the end of September); outside that period we use the year-round Carway crossing.
  • Glacier National Park: commercial tour vehicles are not permitted on the alpine section of Going-to-the-Sun Road (Lake McDonald Lodge – Rising Sun), so we visit St. Mary Lake and Lake McDonald from each side and cross via US-2 (Marias Pass). The park’s historic Red Bus tours over the pass (seasonal, roughly July to September) can be booked separately. The Carway/Piegan border crossing is open year-round.

Why Choose Canam Tours

What to bring

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a passport?

For tours that enter the United States (all USA Multi-Day tours, including Waterton & Glacier), please bring a valid passport and any required US entry documents. For Canada-only tours, Canadian residents need government photo ID; international visitors need the documents required to enter Canada.

When do tours run?

Our 2027 season runs from June 1 to October 30, 2027, and all tours can be booked for dates in that period. Moraine Lake access ends in mid-October (weather permitting), so if the Moraine Lake road has closed, late-October tours visit Lake Louise instead. Some roads, such as Yoho Valley Road, open only in summer. Each tour lists its season at a glance. Request your quote now to reserve your dates.

How long are the driving days?

We plan every day using road-routing data plus extra time for a coach, keeping each day under 10 hours of driving and most days well under 8, so there is time to see the sights. Daily estimates are shown in each itinerary; traffic, weather, border waits and photo stops can change them.

What is included in multi-day packages?

With the full package, hotels are included. Breakfast is included at your hotel, and for lunch you order your favourite meal from the menu at the restaurant we have chosen as the best for the group. Dinners are not included, and neither are tips, personal expenses, optional activities or travel insurance. You can also choose a package without hotel. One-way tours include a flight home from the end city to your local airport; loop tours return to Calgary by coach. Each tour lists exactly what is included.

How much luggage can I bring?

Please contact us — the allowance depends on the vehicle for your group and on the flight home for one-way tours. We will confirm it with your quote.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please contact us. Booking and cancellation terms are confirmed in writing with your quote.

Is Jasper open after the 2024 wildfire?

Yes. Jasper National Park and the town are open. Maligne Canyon and Cavell Road are closed for 2026 and the Maligne Lake cruise is not operating in 2026, so our Jasper days visit Maligne Lake’s shoreline, Medicine Lake, Pyramid Lake and Athabasca Falls instead. We check Parks Canada updates before every trip.

Can you arrange a private or custom tour?

Yes — choose “Custom / private tour” in the quote form and tell us where you would like to go.
